Norman Chad accusa le WSOPE (e il poker live odierno)
Il 61enne giornalista americano, storica voce di commento delle World Series Of Poker insieme a Lon MceEachern, ha recentemente preso di mira il programma delle attuali WSOPE di Rozvadov. Lo schedule imbottito di re-entry e affini gli è risultato proprio indigesto, e lui non si è lasciato pregare

In sintesi, Norman Chad è offeso da queste WSOPE che somigliano troppo a un festival degli High Roller e del celodurismo. “Un terzo degli eventi ha buy-in da almeno 25.500€. Ogni torneo è re-entry e la maggior parte di essi è con re-entry illimitati.”
Sulla graticola, per Chad, non c’è tanto la scelta fatta dall’organizzazione del King’s di Rozvadov, quanto la stessa reputazione delle World Series Of Poker:

“WSOP Europe: tutti e 15 gli eventi sono re-entry, 11 di essi sono con re-entry illimitati. Qualcuno ha sequestrato le World Series Of Poker, e lo ha fatto alla luce del sole” dice Chad, annunciando poi scherzosamente (ma non troppo) un picchetto di protesta.

Un’invettiva accorata, pesante, contro la deriva che ha preso il mondo del poker. Noi ne avevamo scritto poco tempo fa in un’editoriale sul re-entry in average, ma la questione pare quanto mai aperta ed attuale. Certo, finché queste tipologie di eventi faranno registrare i pienoni allora difficilmente gli organizzatori si convinceranno che sia il caso di fare un passo indietro. Ma dove porterà questa china?
